Introduction 簡介

Today I'll be reviewing an airlines that's less commonly heard, as its network only extends to only Japan in Asia, Los Angeles in the US and France in Europe; and a few destinations in Australia, New Zealand as well as the South Pacific.  Aircalin is based in Noumea La Tontouta Airport, New Caledonia, a country in the South Pacific, just 3 hours east of the west coast of Australia.  

今天為大家介紹的是比較少見的航空公司,Aircalin。它的總公司位於新喀裡多尼亞(New Caledonia)的La Tontouta Airport,是南太平洋的一個國家,距離澳州東岸大約3小時機程。這家航空公司的目的地比較少,其中包括東京,大阪,巴黎,洛杉磯,悉尼,墨爾本,布里斯班,斐濟,奧克蘭,還有一些南太平洋的島嶼國家。

The fleet of this airline isn't really huge, but it consists of 2 A330-900NEO, which is one of the newest models in the industry.  The rest of the fleet consists of only 1 A320 and a Twin Otter.  The A320 mainly runs between Noumea and the South Pacific (Australia included), while the A330s handle the rest, although you might occassionally see one doing the Australia run.

Aircalin 的機隊不算太大,但它有兩架最新的A330-900NEO,其餘的機隊由一架A320和Twin Otter組成。A330-900NEO 主要執飛較遠的航線,但有時也會飛到澳州。A320主要負責澳州,還有其他南太平洋的目的地。

The Flight Experience 搭乘體驗

Seat No. 座位: 28F (Last row 最後一排)

Route 路線: SYD-NOU

Long before the flight, I was excitingly expecting to fly on one of their A330-900NEOs, however that didn't happen.  Disappointingly, waiting for us at the gate was an A320, which doesn't feature the new economy product with IFE screens.  Despite the slight disappointment, 

興奮期待了很久可以搭乘A330-900NEO的我,在閘口看到了A320時,頓時失望了。縱使有一絲的失望,我仍然為可以體驗新的航空公司感到興奮。

The economy cabin is configured in a standard 3-3 manner and blue seems to be the theme colour of the airline.  On top of each seat is a soft padding for enhanced lumbar support, although I used it as a cushion to cuddle on later in order to help me fall asleep.  This was also my first time seeing a padding on a seat.

經濟客艙採用3-3配置,而藍藍的機艙反映了航空公司和目的地的主題。每個座位上有一個支撐著你背部的軟墊,但我最後用了它,當作一個攬枕來幫我入睡。的確,有了這個軟墊舒適很多。

Cabin crew on Aircalin speaks mainly French but they can also communicate in English, so there won't be too much difficuties communicating.  One thing worth noticing is that if you're a Qantas frequent flyer or a member of the Air France-KLM Flying Blue member, you'll be able to accure points and status credits (for Qantas) or XP (for the Flying Blue program).

雖然空中服務員說法文為主,但她們也可以用英語溝通,所以不會有太大的障礙。值得注意的是,如果你是澳州航空法國航空-荷蘭皇家航空 Flying Blue的常飛客,你可以在這航班上累積積分。

The flight time for to Noumea was approximately a bit over 3 hours.  On this short international flight, a full lunch was served on economy.

在這趟飛行時間大約3小時的旅程上,空服員提供了午餐

There's only one option for lunch but I was satisfied because the food was so tasty. The only thing I can really pick on is the bread that was stone hard.

雖然午餐只有一個選擇,但我十分滿意。唯一可以挑剔的就是麵包硬了一點。

After lunch service was finished, an immigration form was handed out to every passenger.  Its in both French and English

午餐過後,空服員派發了入境卡。入境卡上有法文和英文對照。

After 3 hours of flying, we finally came into approach into Noumea, where an extensive area of coral reefs can be seen.  

經過3小時的飛行,我們終於到達目的地。目的地的海岸線有很多珊瑚形成,十分壯觀。

Conclusion 總結

In conclusion, this was an enjoyable flight as the flight meal was unexpectedly nice.  To me, the flight meal plays an important role in the entire flying experience with any airline.  The only let down as I've mentioned before was the equipment change and the absence of IFE system on the A320, which made the second half of the journey boring.

總括來說,我對這次旅程感到滿意,特別是因為飛機餐很好吃。對我來說,飛機餐的質素可以決定一趟旅程的感受和經歷。唯一可以挑剔的是機上沒有娛樂系統,令到我在旅程後半部有些悶。
