説起A340-300,我們就想回幾年前。國泰航空還把它執飛香港/羅馬CX293/CX292, 香港/温哥華CX838/CX839, 香港/奧克蘭 CX197/CX198,CX117/CX118 ; 中華航空執飛台北/温哥華CI032/CI031 ; 南非航空執飛香港/約翰尼斯堡 SA286/SA287的年代了。
The Airbus A340 brings be down the memory lane. A few years back, the A340s were common across a couple of airlines such as Cathay Pacific, which fly them on a handful of routes such as Hong Kong & Rome, Vancouver and Auckland; while China Airlines put them on the Taipei to Vancouver route (CI032/031)' and South African Airlines where they were used between Hong Kong and Johannesburg (SA286/287).
最近,在香港看A340的機會愈來愈少,現在只剩下德國漢莎航空在飛A340-600的飛機了。不知道你有沒有坐過A340呢??

當年, 國泰A340有2種設計,叫34J及34B。分別就是34J有特選經濟艙,沒有。今天我就跟大家分享我最後一次坐國泰航空的A340(34J)體驗吧。
There are 2 configurations on Cathay's A340, namely 34J and 34B. The main difference lies in the cabin classes - the former has premium economy class while the latter doesn't. Now let's dive into the flight experience!
- 航班編號 Flight No : CX406
- 飛機名 Reg : B-HXE
- 艙位 Class : 特選經濟艙 Premium Economy Class
這A340-300有3個艙位,分別是商務艙,特選經濟艙及經濟艙。There were three cabins in this aircraft which were Buisness Class,Premium Economy Class and Economy Class. 
- 以魚骨形式,1-1-1配置(毎排3個座位,除11及21排) Arranged in a herringbone pattern with a 1-1-1 configuration (3 seats per row, except rows 11 and 21)
- 共10排,共有26個商務艙座位 There are a total of 26 business class seats across 10 rows
- 座位可180度平躺 Seats can be lay completely flat, i.e. 180 degrees
- D座位需在左邊過道進入座位 D seats would have to be accessed through the left aisle
- 座位跟B747-400一樣 Seats are identical to those on the 747-400s
- 商務艙有2個專屬洗手間(在駕駛艙後面) There are 2 dedicated business class lavatories located just behind the cockpit
- 以2-3-2配置 2-3-2 Configuration
- 行數 Row : 30-33,共28個座位 There are 28 seats across 4 rows
- 有1個專屬洗手間(在30HK前面) A lavatory dedicated for premium economy guests is located in front of seats 30HK
- 航線服務 services aboard:
--短途(6小時以下) short haul (6 hours or less):以短途航班服務 standard short haul services
--長途 long haul: 長途航班服務設歡迎飲料,毛巾, 專屬過夜包 welcome drinks, hot towel and amenities kit
- 與B747-400,舊艙B777-300ER座位相同。The seats are same as the ones on the 747-400 and the older version of 777-300ER
- 有抗噪音耳機 Noise-cancelling headphones
- 以2-4-2配置 2-4-2 configuration
- 分為2個區域,共提供265個座位 Economy Class is separated into 2 zones with 265 seats
- 座位上有個人電視 PTVs(personal TV) are installed at the back of every seat
- 座位為硬殼座位,不能向後傾斜 Fixed-back seats are used in economy, hence reclining is impossible.
A340-300安全須知卡 A340-300 SAETY CARD
今天登機門是48號,旁邊46號是B767的俄羅斯全祿航空(已倒閉)。
We boarded through gate 48, and sitting next to use was a Transaero Boeing 767, which has already ceased operation due to financial hardship.
由於CX406是短途航班,所以沒有歡迎飲料,毛巾等,餐點也跟經濟艙一樣。
由於,當天特選經濟艙只得3人,所以該區好安靜。
CX406 was only a short flight therefore the usual business class perks such as welcome drinks and towels are not provided, even the meal was the same as what economy gets.
Since there were only 3 passengers in premium economy, the cabin was pretty quiet.

空服便派「因航恩物」--- 雞卷及一個小袋,裡面有一包道地烏龍茶。
A box of Oolong Tea and a chicken bun were given for this short flight
飛機在預定時間抵達桃園機場的B7號門。
