Check-in for HK Express is in aisle H of terminal 1 and it was pretty quick as there were a lot of counters open.  If you purchased 'U-first', a priority service package of the airline, you would be able to use the priority check-in counters, which had no one waiting in line.

香港快運航空的登機手續在 1 號客運大樓的 H 通道辦理。因為有很多櫃檯開放，辦理手續很快。 如果您購買了香港快運航空的優先服務套餐“U-first”，您就可以使用優先報到櫃檯，那裡沒有人排隊。

After Security 安檢後
Since I had time to spare, I walked around the terminal and discovered this new food court that I had not seen before, which is located 1 floor below the main terminal.  The food court has 2 sides - one is a HK-style Cha Can Teng, and the other is McDonald's.  The dining area provides an apron view, which could be good for plane-watching.

Further down the terminal is this convenience shop.  This shop worth a mention because it is unstaffed, which is still kind of a novelty around the globe.  To enter, you will need to tap your credit card, and there will be a temporary hold of a small amount of money.  To buy something, you would simply just take the item with you, exit the shop, and your card will be charged automatically.

The shop is mostly stocked with Japanese snacks and travel accessories. Unlike the typical airport shops, I don't find the snacks to be greatly overpriced.

With the weather being irresistibly good, I couldn't help but to take a shot of this gorgeous Cathay Pacific 777-300ER.

Boarding登機
With HK Express being a low cost carrier, all flights are operated in and out of the Midfield Concourse, which requires a train ride from terminal 1.  As fewer flights operate from this terminal, there are significantly fewer people here and it feels more spacious.

Boarding began on time.  If priority boarding matters to you, it is worth noting that although there is a separate line for 'U-first' passengers, there is no special announcement for priority boarding.  This means that you will board at the same time as others when the general boarding announcement is made.

Cabin & Inflight Experience 客艙和機上體驗
Upon boarding, I was greeted warmly by the cabin manager and I made my way to seat 2F, a window seat on the right.  Though you are charged extra to be seated at the front section of the cabin, there is no extra legroom apart from the 1st row.

The legroom is pretty average, as expected on any A320.  As it was merely a 2.5-hour journey, it would not really bother me.
The seat itself is reasonably comfortable.  At the top of the seat is a storage for literature, which is also where the inflight menu is stored.

HK Express has a huge array of flight meals available, although the tastier ones are only available to be purchased online before the flight.  This includes the black truffle spaghetti that I ordered.  It should be noted that once you have paid for the meal, there is no way that you can change your selection.  I only found out about this when I wanted to switch my meal to the clay pot rice.

The pasta certainly smells and tastes really nice.

I later also ordered for a cup of Lavazza coffee.  For purchases onboard, only cash and Octopus cards are accepted.

On my return journey, I ordered a bolognese penne alongside with a Qoo fruit juice.  It tasted fine, not as good as the mushroom truffle spaghetti.

For the remainder of the flight, I tried my best to fall asleep but I couldn't since I just had a cup of coffee.

We then landed in Bangkok late due to the late departure from Hong Kong.
